An Authentic Community of Support

Families who care for children with complex medical needs are especially vulnerable during these uncertain times. To help ease the sense of isolation and stress camper parents and caregivers are facing, we’re offering ongoing special content and supportive resources.

Delivered in new ways, these initiatives are intended to offer hope, improved well-being and meaningful connections with other parents and caregivers on a similar journey.

Creating Generous Spaces for Connection

“Courage starts with showing up and letting ourselves be seen.” – Researcher & author, Brené Brown

Despite the transition from offering traditional on-site programs to alternative programming during the Covid-19 pandemic, our goals—supporting our camper families with high-quality, cost-free, inclusive programs—are as vital as ever. Whether in person or online, our experienced team offers children with serious illnesses and their siblings, parents and caregivers the chance to connect in respectful and caring spaces.

Parent & Caregiver Support Groups

Led by a trained facilitator, these support groups meet every other week. Open to parents and caregivers of children with serious illnesses. Register today.

Camper Meetups

Virtual meetups give our campers, who are between the ages of 7 to 17, a chance to connect with peers in small online gathering spaces. Register today.

Family Care Conference

We hosted our 2nd annual online care conference Oct. 6-7, 2021, bringing together top medical and mental health professionals with parents caring for chronically ill children. See recorded talks.

Family Game Nights

Hosted on Zoom, these free events give campers and their families, camp alumni, volunteers and staff a chance to connect and enjoy a variety of fun and games for the whole family. Click here to register.

Summer Camp

We are excited to share our plans to safely resume on-site summer programs. See 2022 Summer Camp Schedule.

Campily Retreats

Newly designed “Campily Retreat” programs will adapt traditional Family Camp Weekend programming to ensure COVID-19 precautions while giving families a chance to enjoy a camp getaway experience. See 2022 Campily Retreat Schedule.

A Healing Place

Whether through in-person camp or virtual experiences, North Star Reach family programs give families a chance to enjoy time together while also building community and connection with other families on a similar journey. Below you can listen to parents share their experiences during a traditional onsite family camp weekend.
